10 Bit A/D Converter with SPITM Serial Interface
Use to add eight analog input channels to the Raspberry Pi, which currently only provides digital interfacing.

The Microchip Technology Inc. MCP3008 device is a successive approximation 10-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter with on-board sample and hold circuitry, in a 16 pin DIP package. It is programmable to provide four pseudo-differential input pairs or eight single ended inputs.

Product Description

This device is capable of conversion rates of up to 200ksps and operate over a broad voltage range (2.7V ~ 5.5V). Low current design permits operation with typical standby currents of only 5nA and typical active currents of 320uA.
