DeoxIT® contact cleaner is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, protects, lubricates and improves conductivity on all metal connectors and contacts. Use as a general treatment for connectors, contacts and other metal surfaces, and on non-critical metal surfaces with severe oxidation and corrosion. If the metal surface is discolored, it is severe. DeoxIT® dissolves the contamination and protects the surface. For reference, DeoxIT® has approximately 20% cleaning action.

  The 5% stuff works well and I use it first. The adjustable (volume) spray helps control application. Save the 100% stuff with the precision needle tip when you can get into the pot / wiper / contact. Yes it is expensive compared to general 'tuner cleaner', but small, controlled applications go a long way. Is OK for most plastics, always test first, and have not had a problem with old phenolic switches. But I never saturate them either. Remember that some contacts are silver, so don't 'scrape off' the black silver oxide...it's conductive and protects the base metal.

  It is not a 100% solution but it can get in where the needle dispenser cannot. Works
