Conductive Carbon Coating for most surfaces (rubber, epoxy, glass, plastic). It is ideal for repairing membrane buttons, keyboard buttons, and other carbon based surfaces. It may also be used as a coating for shielding (EMI) of electronics.

Similar products on the market are more expensive, and have multiple containers requiring mixing prior to application. The CaiKote™ 44 is applied in one step; just allow to dry and is ready for service.

Uses:

Repairs membrane buttons, keyboard buttons and other carbon-based surfaces. Shielding of electronics. May be mixed with the CircuitWriterTM conductive (silver/nickel based) ink to acquire the best sheet resistance for each application.

Cautions/Compatibility:

There are no cautions known, but we always recommend testing in large scale use. Apply the product carefully. Do not allow it to remain on a surface NOT being treated, particularly plastic. Once it has dried, it is quite difficult to remove.

Other kits have several steps but this is very easy to use and I quickly repaired a key fob and a TV remote with no mess.

I found this works well for repairing worn buttons on Tektronix scopes but I was used to using a 2 part epoxy product and this took a little longer to dry than I waited causing it to short the connections. No problem though because I also found that Chemtronics Flux-Off flux remover cleaned it right off and everything worked well afterwards.

I used this product on 3 old remote controls. It would have cost $150 - $200 to replace them. Within one hour, all 3 remotes are working like new!
