      "Solder is solder" ???

The most endearing aspect of the internet is how it empowers anyone to speak with the authority of the informed, while knowing absolutely nothing. THIS stuff is really excellent. In the instances where I allowed myself to run out, and am forced to buy stuff from the local builder's emporium, I end up using the last vestiges of the old role, until I'm holding it with hemostats, until my order arrives. Hey, if you think solder is solder, go ahead -- why not use old wheel weights while you're at it?

I have been using this solder for many years in my service business. We mainly repair TVs & other electronic equipment. I have not had one failure due to this product. I do not know who actually makes this item, but I know it is very good.

I didn't use it yet. I was happy to find a 6 ounce size and it is probably a great product for the price. It is basically 60/ 40 and hopefully has enough rosin.

Very Good Solder at a very good price

      Overall: 4.5 out of 5

I really would like to know who makes this solder. I suspect it is the same thing as one of the industry leaders famous products...the standard against which all others are compared, but I just don't know for sure. Looks like the same spool and labeling to me, but can't be 100% positive. A lot of people have given me greif for buying anything but the gold standard, as solder is one of the most important parts of any electronic repair, but if it is the same stuff and you can save 30% or 40%, why not....this solder has worked just fine for me thus far, so I would say go for it!
