  great iron for the money. I have used this unit HEAVILY for about 9 mos now and no complaints. I have spare tips and irons but im still on the original tip and iron at this point. Works very well for arcade machine related repairs! 5 stars!

  I've had great luck with products from MCM but this unit stoped heating after only a few months of infrequent use. MCM customer service was great and readily sent a replacement... but that unit stopped heating after 3 uses. The unit would have been a great value for the money but I guess it's time to spend a few more bucks and get the Weller.

  I bought this station about a year ago. Worked flawlessly until I got a bad replacement iron that damaged it and blew it up. MCM replaced the station under warranty and I bought another as a backup. Very pleased with this unit. - Jim, Owner, SHARCNET-USA

  This soldering station performs flawlessly. I've had it a couple of months now, and it has already had a workout...maybe 30-40 hours usage thus far. The temperature recovery is immediate, even when working with heavy joints such as shields and chassis ground connections. The unit maintains a very tight temp which is spot-on with what the digital display shows. The ground strap connector on the back is a plus, as it's always close at hand to hookup a wrist strap. If you have never used/don't have an adjustable soldering station before, PUT THAT OLD 30W IRON AWAY...NOW! You'll be very glad you did!

  I've owned this for a couple years now and use it frequently. The digital temp control is a great feature that I wouldn't want to do without. Overall it seems like a great quality unit for hobbyist use. The price is a bit high, but it tends to go on sale from time to time.
