Solder Fume Extractor
Electronic solders typically contain rosin–resin compounds and lead, which when heated may create noxious fumes. Prolonged exposure to these fumes is considered potentially harmful and may create health problems including headaches, nausea and eye irritation. The Tenma Solder Fume Extractor greatly reduces this hazard by effective removing these problem fumes from the air.

      Buy it!

      Overall: 5 out of 5

Still going strong after one year! This item is identical to one of the "name brand" units out there that sells for twice the price.

At last, I can solder at the kitchen table.

      Overall: 5 out of 5

I was having to solder on the back porch until I found the Tenma-21-7960. Partner approved, I'm very pleased.

      Fume extractor

      Overall: 5 out of 5

Does what it is supposed to do. Relatively quiet, but needs to be within a foot or less of the soldering area to really be effective.

      Overall: 4 out of 5

This is not a perfect fume extractor but may be the best value out there. I found the inlet vortex would throw fumes to the right side of the unit, so am contemplating putting a baffle on the that side to keep fumes entrained. At $35 or so, this is a very good value. You'd proabably have to spend 2-3X for something better. Noise level is moderate but not too objectionable, too. Overall construction is very sturdy and well made. I submitted a You Tube video of its performance...

      It sucks just as advertised

      Overall: 5 out of 5

These work nicely if you are doing more than just occasional soldering. Less expensive than others I've seen, but they work just as well.
