Why would I pay $12 for a BNC patch cable whan I can buy these?
After a lot of frustration with inconsistent results, I tested all my BNC patch cables in this series by connecting a signal generator to a osciloscope with a 75 ohm termination. About half the connectors fit tighly- too tight to use on anything that will be tasken on and off frequently but seem to be electrically sound. Most of the remainder go on and off easily but when I move the cable I see frequent brief opens and more sustained high resistance. A few have no problems in this brief test, so I wasted my money on these and I would pay the $12 to get sonmething that works, but I found some under $1 "compression" BNC connectors from China that fit fairly well and have no electrical problems. I worry that the cable might be pulled out of the connector, so I use them when I don't want to pay for the good ones.
