Digital to Analog Converter

Compact device accepts either TOSLINK or coaxial digital audio input, and converts it to left/right analog line level output. It's perfect when connecting televisions, DVD and Blu-ray players to audio equipment that lacks the necessary digital input.

This device automatically down mixes 5.1 digital audio to two (left/right) analog channels.

  • Automatically down-mixes up to six channels (5.1) to an analog stereo signal
  • Switch-selectable between S/PDIF and TOSLINK input
  • Unbalanced line-level output thru RCA connectors
  • Required power: 5VDC (adapter included)

Product Reviews

  • "Output is too low!" by wjustic on 1/13/2015
    Overall: 2.5 out of 5

I used this to connect a new TV with fiber optic audio output to an older receiver with line level inputs. The output of this unit is so low that even with the receiver turned all the way up, it was barely at a normal listening level. Unfortunately, the cost to return it would be half the cost of the converter. I'll hang on to it and see if I can modify it to work properly.

  • "Solved my problem" by yesman6 on 12/23/2013
    Overall: 5 out of 5

I bought a new LG TV and like most new TV sets it only has digital audio out
So I bought a cheap -o ($ 15.00) D to A converter (toslink to rca) it worked fine
in all modes but one , Over the Air DTV. It seems broadcast DTv only transmits
in dolby 5.1 audio so a standard converter won't work , this item fixed my problem
and was much cheaper than the other brands.
P.S. check the audio settings menu on your TV first to see if you can switch to pcm audio
if you can then you can use the cheaper D/A converter.
P.P.S the only down side on this item is the switch to change from coaxial to toslink input
it is not marked and seems to work backward .

  • "Sound System" by Eddie7117 on 7/19/2013
    Overall: 4 out of 5

I have an old AWAI sound system with very good 5.1 Dolby speakers, but it does not have a coax digital input. The old DVD player that had the necessary analog connections out became obsolete. This D to A converter gave back most of the Dolby sound quality back through the cable box coax output.
