Great Speaker - Needs a ceiling tile bridge

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Excellent sound and easy to install for the price. My only complaint is that MCM should have a recommended tile bridge to fit this speaker - the 8" speaker bridges are just a bit too small.

    Bought for sealed enclosure feature

    Overall: 4 out of 5

Got a pair of these on sale for installing in 14 foot long soffit enclosure wall over kitchen cabinets. We didnt want to tear out the soffit just to build some kind of enclosure for typical in-wall speakers These MCM branded things fit the bill since the backs of these coaxially mounted drivers are sealed in a solid molded plastic enclosure. Small rotary dial on the speaker baffle allows various settings for 70V operation or simple transformerless 8 ohm operation as with a typical AVR. The dial on one of the two was not perfectly aligned with printout, had to check with meter before hooking up to Yamaha AVR. Installation was a little tricky as the unthreaded plastic mounting tabs were hard to drive the screws into. "Pre-screwing" the screws in and out of the cheap plastic tabs one time BEFORE mounting is recommended to make them go in easily once the speakers are placed in the wall. Provided jig and instructions were helpful. Also comes with a handy little wire puller to remove grills from mounted speakers if needed. Had no problem getting 16 AWG wire in the spring loaded clips. Drivers themselves look cheap and coaxial mounting was sloppy. Sound was fine for noisy kitchen environment though, these are probly not intended for close listening anyway. Not bad for the money.
