used many of these, with varied success

    Overall: 4 out of 5

For the price, it's easily the best product for the money. Usually works great! Only occasionally, the unit will not retransmit some IR devices signals reliably. One case in point, I installed it on a system using a Directv receiver. Everything worked great except the Directv device. The IR signals from the original remote worked just fine if the signals are received directly by the directv DVR, but when it goes through the IR extender, it only works about 10% or the time. Tried various locations of the emitter eye on the unit from directly over the IR receiver in the unit, to 3 feet from it. And almost anywhere in between without improving the reliability of the signal reception.

Just in case it was getting a multipath signal, I completely covered the receiver's IR detector eye with black tape, so the only signal it gets is the one from the IR emitter, same difficulty. I still will use this device when and where it works. I have installed at least 10 of these devices in my clients homes, and for the most part it works great. I use other manufacturer's product only when this doesn't work. (At a higher cost of course.)

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I have used about 40 of these. They work great. I have not had any issues with LED, LCD, or Plasma TVs. I've only had 1 fail out of the box, and it was a bad solder connection which was easily fixed. This is a good price point for this product. The only down side to this product is sometimes you get the power plug straight on and some times it is at a right angle. I prefer the straight on power plug as it conserves space on the surge strip.

    IR Extender worked

    Overall: 4 out of 5

This extender worked on all the LED TVs I have tried it on. I have not tried it with a plasma TV yet. Comes with all the parts you need to make it work. Watch out for the colors on wire for the IR receiver if you have to cut the plug off and extend it. The colors are switched from what you would think. It is a great low cost IR extender for the price.
