Astounding quality for the price. Well worth every penny we paid.

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I bought these as a consultant for a customer as part of a 7.2 home theater installation. I've been familiar with MCM and have purchased parts, replacement drivers, etc from them for years. We also purchased 2 of the Stellar Labs 10" powered sub-woofers, the matching center channel and surround speakers. Fit and finish on all speakers were as good as brand name speakers from the Big Box stores -just a better value.
At this price point my main concern was the customer's happiness and these did not disappoint him or me! He was pleasantly surprised by the fit and finish and the packaging. We had been to Best Buy/Magnolia and another local retailer auditioning receivers. He liked Definitive, Pioneer (Andrew Jones), Klipsch. But, he was surprised by comparison how expensive some of the other speaker offerings were from the name brands. I encouraged him to investigate other offerings as well.
I have owned ADS, ADVENT AR, EPI, Acoustat, JBL, Infinity, Polk, PSB and more. Without dis-assembly to inspect the drivers and crossover the only places where a compromise might be evident is in the thickness of the cabinets. At around $120 a pair plus shipping it's impressive how good these sound. Five way binding posts make the connections very easy. The combination of a silk dome tweeter and twin mid bass/ woofers are just fine for anyone who wants a really good value. I doubt any but the most discerning listeners would ever complain about having to listen to these speakers. The biggest mystery is how it's done at such a reasonable price.
We purchased these for an everyday living space theater system used by the whole family. Paired with one of the latest upper tier Yamaha home theater receivers (with ATMOS) the overall sound quality is smooth and clean. In theater mode the Dolby and DTS sound fields are well presented, and you feel like you are listening to a much more expensive setup.
What impressed him most was when we configured the system to run in 2.0, and 2.1 modes. The 50-16350 did an above average job in presenting jazz, and classical music. Using a calibrated microphone at volume levels of 75-90db they were smooth and clean with little fatigue. We never pushed them above 90db. These speakers are quite efficient and the receiver was barely pushed.
His previous system was a Bose subwoofer/satellite which he had raved about for years. He was, in fact, a Bose evangelist. Now, he is singing a different tune, and showing his friends hear his latest system. He's not letting them know how much we paid. Let me tell you, when they guess the price he just smiles like a Cheshire cat.

WOW! So much better than I expected.

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I purchased these speakers to use in my home office where I do paperwork, probably the most use system in the house. I moved the two speakers that had been in my office to the basement Theater space and needed something for my office. I kept seeing these in the catalog, but avoided them as the price was so low that I couldn't imagine them sounding any good. Then I decided I had to try so I bought 4 to surround the room and go with the center channel and the subwoofer of the same system. I connected them to a nice receiver that I had and WOW, I couldn't believe how great they sounded. If you are having second thoughts about these speakers, take my word for it, BUY THEM! I'm actually looking for an excuse to buy some more and I probably will. The center channel and Sub sound great too, make it a complete system.

    Great bang for the buck!

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

No one had reviewed these and so I finally decided to order these and give my review. These were the size and height I was looking for, nice looking and accepts banana plugs. I figured for the price that even if they don't sound to my liking that I can tweak them. Can't build the boxes that cheap. Very happy with the purchase, tweeters are very good and the bass is decent. Should be excellent for my home theater.
