24Bit / 96K D/A converter
This compact unit will accept standard coax or Toslink SPDIF signal, and convert it to line level audio. It is perfect when there is a need to send digital audio signal to an amplifier not having digital inputs, including home audio receivers, prosound amplifiers and mixing consoles. It is also ideal when an unused digital output on a piece of home theater equipment needs to be sent to a separate whole house audio amplifier.
This unit utilizes a digital chipset comprised of a Crystal CS8414 receiver, and Burr-Brown PCM1716 (96KHz/24 bit) converter. Two Toslink and two AES/EBU coaxial inputs are provided on the rear panel. Analog output is provided via two sets of L/R RCA female connectors. An internal 700mW headphone amplifier also provides output via a female 1/4" connector on the front panel. An external DC power supply is utilized to ensure maximum isolation between sensitive internal circuitry and potential AC line noise.
