5" Open Back Midrange
Poly treated paper cone midrange is perfect in a variety of home or pro sound three-way speaker applications, as well as use in a multi-driver automotive system. Open frame design allows extended low frequency response.

  I have a set of Wharfdale E-50s that had the foam surrounds separate from the cones on the mids. Due to their design (wire screen permanently glued over the speaker), re-foaming was not an option. I wasn't expecting anything great out of these, but the specs were close enough, and I've had good experiences with other inexpensive speakers from MCM, so I gave them a try. They match the Wharfdales quite well sound wise. Plenty of sound from the mids, not to much, not too little. I cranked them up a bit using my Vintage 40 WPC Yamaha amp, and they sounded good, even when I had the amp pumping out about its max rated WPC (about 1/2 volume). They were a perfect fit, including the holes for the mounting screws. My only issue is that my grills are mesh see-through, and these aren't pretty like the originals.
