I bought this and a piezo tweeter MCM Part #: 53-805 and the two provide a very linear sound. In my particular application I'm using this along with a keyboard and for more bass response. These are not very bass heavy but do have a very pleasant and responsive sound that is rather neutral, making it well suited to critical monitoring applications. It would also be a great replacement or upgrade in a guitar amp because of its wide range and higher than average SPL. I have not found any other 8" woofer that has a SPL this high.

I use a POD XT and run straight to the mixer for front of the house. I don't use a back line amp. Instead I have a small power amp driving a pair of 12" speakers aimed back at me. I just joined a band that's playing small places with no room for the 12's. I was looking at Eminence Alphas when I came across these. Much better price, better specs. So I designed and built a pair of dual angle floor wedge boxes specifically for these speakers. Lemme tell you they sound great! And the footprint of the cabs is so small they'll fit anywhere. MCM comes through again!
Power amp is a Samson Servo 260, 90 watts per ch @ 8ohms. Cabinets are 915 cubic inch internal volume with two 1.5" ports. This setup rocks.
