I wanted something low priced and durable to drop into an old Electro-Voice Eliminator folded horn. This worked very well in this style of cabinet. Recommended!

I bought this because have a pair of baffles, some time ago one of my woofers burned, then I bought one like this. After some time of use, burned the other original woofer, that's why I bought this second. Works excelent. Thanks.

This sturdy and efficient woofer is a perfect replacement for two OEM woofers that were burnt out on a pair of LEGION brand 15" 2-way monitors, that I own. It produces far better vocals and some much needed punch, than the originals. It can also handle more power than that of the originals. I accidentally roasted the originals during a Metal / Thrash gig that I was running sound for, by having mis-matched the monitor amp. (Ironically, it was the Stellar Labs SLP-900) Way too powerful for the rated power of the original monitor's 15" drivers. However, I can run the SLP-900 with these replacements, without worry. They can handle much more power, than they are rated. (At least, I believe so. Your results may vary) I'm pleased with them for what I am using them for. A good 15" 2-way monitor should be able to produce a minimum of 400 watts without issue, when needed. These do.

While not a high powered speaker, this is a very good value. It very capably reproduces the low end in my custom built 3-way trapezoid enclosures (2.75 cubic feet with dual 2-7/8" x 5" ports). They aren't boomy but have a rather defined thump to them. More like a heartbeat than a steel drum, if you know what I mean. They are teamed with a nice, sparkly bright midrange and a couple piezo tweeters that are padded to about 92db (down from 94db) crossed over at 1.2/5khz. If you get a crossover that can handle it, you can put together a 3-way system that comfortably handles 500 watts RMS if you select the appropriate mid and hf drivers. I'd like to see the 8" woofer that is in MCM part #555-10300 offered by itself because the midrange in that 2-way is phenominal and mates wonderfully with this 15" driver. I'd be tempted to buy the finished 8' 2-way cabinet just for the woofer in that thing. MCM, are you listening?

I'm no audiophile, so I can't speak for how well this performs when compared to the competition, but if you have a 15 inch woofer that needs replacing on the cheap you can't go wrong. I was afraid these wouldn't perform well for listening to music or watching a movie, but they sound good enough to me.

I've used three sizes in this series -- 12" - Part# 55-2952, 15" - Part# 55-2953 and 18" - Part #55-2954 and have had great results with all. Build quality is great, sound is at least as good as the original, and price is ridiculously low. For rebuilding, repairing old equipment for resale, these cannot be beat. I even resell these as replacements in my shop, my customers love them.

these things ROCK !!!! i had a couple of motel dressers and they were 11.4 cu.ft. 17x19x72 ,, using winISD i built a custom pair of cabinets and installed 2 of these in each cabinet parallelled to 4 ohm , vented them per winISD and tuned to 31.75 Hz ,,, the effiency of these speakers are great ,, only powering them with a car amp of 40 watts & no crossover inductors ,, they will chase you out of a 2000sq.ft. building ,, i never heard something that plays so good and loud with so little power !!! i give 3 thumbs up to them !!!!!!!!! i am soooo pleased at the price and quality of sound i am getting ,, i dont even want to upgrade to a dedicated hi power AC amp !!!!! and they will take 400 watts,, oh my ears !!! LOL
