We use these cases for Amateur Radio Go Kits. They are just right. We have built cases in 2U, 3U, and 4U models. This is a great way to go.

I needed a shallow case for my Allen & Heath QU PAC mixer so I could easily get to the back of the unit for connections. The big name brands are quite expensive so I took a chance with this one as I've always had good luck with anything I have purchased from MCM in the past. As always - it is excellent quality and value for money. I love the size - its perfect for me. The material seems quite protective and the door latched work well. My only critique would be that when placed on end, the latches protrude a little too much and the feet don't sit flat. This makes it a little rocky and unstable. It's not a problem though as I am always careful where I place the case so it cant be knocked over. Very happy overall!
