    Brand new garage tunes

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Now that summer is here, cleaning out the garage is a top priority around here. Up on a shelf I found a pair of old MCM bookshelf speakers with cob webs and dust attached. They have been there for years. I ordered the Pyle amp[ and when it arrived I cleaned off the speakers and attached the original wire, that was still attached to the speakers and hooked up the output from an old disc/FM player I found in the junk. Well, I was totally surprised. Bam! Hendrix performed right in my garage. Super output at 8 ohms, great tone control and full sound. If you need a compact full bodied stereo amp for general use, this is for you. You can't go wrong.

Good Upgrade Amp for Home Audio

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

I required a compact solid-state amplifier for a home audio system upgrade using a DVD / CD player. We had a good set of floor-standing speakers that were not being used for lack of an amplifier. I had connected a tube type amplifier that I had constructed twenty years ago into the system and it worked quite well using the CD player as the source. I decided to try using the PCA2 amplifier as a replacement for the tube amplifier and I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality and output power capabilities. This compact amplifier proved to be a perfect choice for this application. We can now enjoy any type of music from our collection and the audio track of movies on DVD is really outstanding. I am extremely pleased with the performance of this product.

    Very Satisfactory Amp

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I received this amp today to power a pair of old but high quality bookshelf speakers I wanted to use in my office. I am using my computer and my iPhone as input sources. I am very happy with the amp out of the box - as I did expect to be since this is my 2nd Pyle amp from MCM Electronics.
The other amp is the 3 input 2X40 amp (model offered now has the USB input in addition - mine is without the USB input but all else is the same). I use the 3 input amp in the kitchen to power ceiling speakers with the main input being from a U-verse receiver. I sometimes use my iPhone as a second input for music. I use the Rec Output to power wireless headphones for listening to either the TV or iPhone with the TV muted and the ceiling speakers turned off (via a separate inline volume control unit). I have had this amp for quite a while so it has had a good performance test and has work flawlessly. I expect my new office amp to do as well.
Thank you MCM for offering such suitable amps at reasonable prices.

Not recommended for frequent volume adjustments.

This amplifier was installed as part of a small music and announcement system. The volume was adjusted occasionally throughout the day, and after only a few months, the control knob began having problems. Two years after purchase, the volume barely functions, and crackles quite loudly through the speakers when adjusted. The amplifier still works, but we need to control levels on the input side.

    Good little amp

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

Works fine. Good sound and low noise. Only drawback is that the line input is truly a line level only. If you signal level is a little low the input isn't sensitive enough to allow you to turn up the amp enough to reach full output volume. Other than that it seems to be pretty good.

    Clean, Quiet Amp

    Overall: 5 out of 5

This small amp delivers flawless performance and even can drive 2 sets of speakers with no loss of bass. The case is sturdy and overall build quality is top notch. The rotary controls are very smooth acting too. The speaker terminals barely can accept 16 AWG wire so don't try to get 14 AWG in there. The amp is perfectly quiet too, absolutely no hum from it as I use it in the headboard of my bed so it is right next to my head. It also stays amazingly cool too, it does not even get warm so should work well even in enclosed environments. Plenty of power for my application even driving 2 sets of speakers and I use it with the Behringer ultra compact equalizer which I also recommend.

    Great Little Amp

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I've used these and other Pyle Amps for sound reinforcement in the classroom setting. We hid them in the ceiling next to projectors and they just run. Good product!
