Purchased for use in our older inboard ski boat so I can play MP3 music over the stereo in boat. A very versatile device with ability to use a SD card, USB thumb drive, or plain old analog audio from a iPod or smart phone device! Delivers good sound with minimal noise on FM. The annoying parts now. 1- you need a magnifying glass to read the display. 2- like others have stated, the remote must be placed within 3 inches of device for it to work! Since this is a common complaint, I will probably NOT going to request an exchange. The buttons on device do the basic stuff ok. I have not had the fuse burn out....yet. I do expect that to happen sometime, since most boats put out higher voltage than a car. Oh, the USB or flash card memory has to be under 16gig, but you can load plenty of music on a 16gig card!

I almost didn’t buy this item because the price seemed too good to be true, but on the other hand, if it was a piece of junk I wouldn’t be out much. After reading some negative reviews I was even more skeptical, but I remembered that most people won’t bother to write a review if everything went ok, it’s usually anger that motivates people these days. The shipping cost was more cause for anger than the product, but that’s another story.

I got my mp3 player 2 days early, which was cool. The unit does everything the ad says it will and mine worked fine for me. I noticed some people were having problems and I saw what they were talking about. There are 2 things that are not mentioned in the instruction sheet (if anyone bothered to read). When I opened the package I almost didn’t see it, but there is an extra 0.5A fuse included. After close scrutiny I found the fuse location is in the end that plugs into cig lighter, it unscrews like a twist top beer. A half amp fuse filament is very fine, so if there is any problem with your vehicle’s voltage regulator for example, the fuse would blow easily to protect the unit. This could explain the short life that some were complaining about.

About the remote, some were saying their remote didn’t work at all. I had this problem too, until I noticed there is a tiny piece of clear plastic film sticking out of the slot where the battery goes in. This is not mentioned in the instruction sheet either and is barely visible, but is commonly found in electronic devices to keep the battery from discharging in the event of a button being pressed during shipping. You must remove the film before the remote will work. The remote has several equalizer settings programmed into memory. You must press the button repeatedly to navigate thru the list. A couple of the settings have the bass turned way down and one is mostly treble. The Rock and Pop settings have the most bass. The overall sound quality depends on a lot of things, but if your mp3s are at least 128kbps, the unit performs pretty well. On higher bit rate files the sound quality is better than that of local FM radio broadcasts, on my system.

I am on my second unit and still can't get one to work! The first one worked for about 10 minutes, then the display went dark. The second unit won't play out of the thumb drive, but works on an external audio source plugged into the input jack. The remote only works if you hold it right up to the display.

This thing is much better than the old "cassette adaptor." Very easy to use, although it is a little hard to read the display because my cigarette lighter is close to the floor in my mini-van. With the little remote control, it's not really necessary to see the display, though. Sounds great, and my kids can plug their MP3 players into the external jack so they don't have to listen to my lame music!

This product works surprisingly well. As soon as I plugged it in, tuned to the correct frequency on my radio, and pressed play I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't experience any interference issues, and the sound quality was great! There are a couple of things I wish were better, the first being the small LCD screen. This isn't a huge deal to me, because I only put music that I want to hear on my thumb drive, and typically don't attempt to navigate to a specific song. Also, the remote control signal is somewhat weak. Overall, considering the price, I would recommend this product to everyone.
