    Like many other test tools, including the digital multimeter (DMM), the Lil’ Bitty Tester only gives an accurate result when the component is tested out of circuit. When testing components in-circuit, the result may not be right. For example, I have used both the Lil’ Bitty Tester and a DMM to test a diode. When testing the diode in-circuit, both of them said that the diode is shorted, but when I desoldered the diode and tested it again, the diode was actually good. This tells you that the test equipment can not be completely relied on.
