Active device is essential for reliable installation of background music and paging systems in residences, offices buildings and public areas. Avoid costly service calls and amplifier damage by verifying actual speaker system impedance prior to operation. Unlike conventional volt/ohm meters, which measure DC resistance, this unit utilizes an internal 1KHz oscillator to measure true impedance.

    Field service Background music systems

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Received defect meter and MCM sent out a replacement for me after I contacted them. They billed me for the replacement and then credited me when they received the defective one. They did a UPS pickup for me and paid the shipping back. Great service! The meter works perfect. You can check impedance of speaker before you put into system. Check total system loads for calculating the max power amp you need to drive load. The case it very durable, shock and water proof! Not like the TOA Meter. I like the analog meters but the trade off is a much more reliable package. The meter leads are solid quality with removable alligator clips. Very nice option for taking readings. Plus a hold button so you can touch, remove leads and read meter when you get down from the ladder. All good stuff and I recommend this meter. Another valuable tool in my quiver.

I have purchased 4 of these meters for audio servicing and they work well for the money

    Overall: 4 out of 5

Easy to use and appears quite accurate. I have used a TOA ZM104 (analog ) meter that has a higher output 1Khz tone than this unit ; so you have to pay more attention in a moderately noisy environment with this meter. The unit casing is a moisture retardant plastic that is well made . The alligator clips are handy to used and store in the well made zipper case. This is a very handy tool that I recommend to any audio installation or service technician.
