HDMI Cable Tester
Quickly troubleshoot and verify HDTV installations with this compact device. This tester provides DC continuity test on all active HDMI pins by sequentially testing each data path.

This set consists of two separate units:
Main Unit
The main unit has two HDMI connections, allowing easy testing of preassembled connections. Simply plug both ends of an HDMI cable into this unit for quick easy testing.

Remote Unit
This is especially useful when cable in installed inside a structure, between two rooms. Simply connect one end of the cable to the main unit, the other end to the remote unit. The remote unit provides all of the same LED indication of each signal path.

Each signal path is sequentially tested automatically, or select manual operation, and a simple push of a button will advance to the next signal path. LED indication is provided on the main test unit, as well as the remote module. All connections are HDMI female type. Requires standard 9V battery (#292-035), not included.

      Note that this unit only provides continuity test, so it will not provide 100% guarantee that HDMI cable is good.. However, as advertised, this unit is very good for verifying continuity test. We install HDMI cables inside walls almost daily. Sometimes, especially when doing retrofits, the cables get pulled and twisted more than they should. This tester allows us to quickly verify the cable was not damaged. It is also nice that this tester sequences through each path, one at a time. Other (suprisingly more expensive) HDMI testers show all paths lit up at once. This unit is worth every penny of the $60 I paid for it. If you work with HDMI cables, you should have this tester.
