  The user's manual sent with the sound pressure meter (72-940 is confusing with respect to calibration. I recently started using the calibrator (72-8530) and the combined assembly works fine. Here's the question: what's the relationship, if any, between the CAL setting on the meter and the calibration with the 72-8530? Which should govern? What is calibrated in both cases? What's the advantage in purchasing a meter with a CAL setting? In summary, let's see a rewrite of pages 11 and 12 of the 72-940 user's manual incorporating both calibration procedures.
