      Can't test some cable configurations

      Overall: 3 out of 5

Handy little tester, but a few issues. I asked support before purchasing if this would test a cable with Micro-USB OTG on one end and type B on the other. They confirmed that it would. When received, this configuration would NOT work. It will only test a cable with USB Type A on one end, and the other end could be A, B, or micro-B. So, I had to buy a separate adapter to make this work for my application. Next problem is at least 2 of the LED's are VERY VERY bright blue. After watching a few tests, I was seeing spots. I had to put a label over the LED's and poke a very small hole. I would be careful not to damage your eyes by not looking directly at the LED's. Last issue is for USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 cables you must wait for it to cycle through the unused pins. It would be nice if it went faster or selection to only check the 4 pins.

      Handy little tester!

      Overall: 5 out of 5

Very well built and much smaller than I expected. The external battery pack is a little annoying, but it's small enough to be easy to carry with the tester. Operation is simple, which is good, since the directions are a little cryptic. Will test USB 3.0-A male to USB 3.0-A male, USB 3.0-B male, and USB 3.0 Micro-B male. Will also test USB 2.0-A male to USB 2.0-A male or USB 2.0-B male. I just wish it had a USB mini port too. Nice little tester!
