This In-circuit ESR & DC Resistance capacitor tester is specially designed to measure ESR (equivalent Series Resistance) on capacitors in the range of 0.47uF to 2200uF, in or out of circuit. The ability to trouble shoot in-circuit saves time and makes the 881 a must for anyone that tests or trouble shoots printed circuit boards.

  I have not used this model but I did use the previous model very often. This is a wonderful tool. It is so much easier to test caps in circuit without the need to unsolder. Does not affect other components. You still must unsolder one leg if other caps are in parallel. This works great for bad caps in the vertical or horz. circuit of CRT tv's. I used to use an O-scope and check ripple but this is so much faster and doesn't require the tv to be powered up. ( used to get zapped but not now ) I highly recommend this item.
