  This could be a very good card with more modern software. I installed the card in a Windows XP system, and it works very well - better resolution than the Swann card I had been using and a nice user interface. BUT... when I tried installing the remote viewing software on a Windows 7 laptop, I got the error "Codec (H.264) can't be installed correctly". The manual says to download updated software, (BIG) BUT... there is no contact information in the manual nor on the box - not even a company name! I emailed MCM support but got no reply. The website defender-usa.com doesn't show this card. So, I sent it back and reverted to my trusty Swann card. Note to MCM: a PDF of the manual and more info would be a welcome addition to the webpage for this card. BTW, the remote viewing app DID install ok on a Windows XP laptop, but that does me no good. Also, only specific NVIDIA GeForce AGP video cards are supported.

  If I had been able to use this card and the features worked, I think I'd love it. I ordered this item twice, about a year apart, to see if the product had been modified to use either motherboard video chips or more generic video cards, but no luck. According to the product manual this is the model TD3004. It requires a GeForce 2, GeForce4, FX5200 or ATI Rage 128 video card (all discontinued many years ago). Specifically, I wanted to dedicate an older Dell computer to the security system, but has an obsolete AGP video card slot. I think the product description could be more detailed and mention the need for a third-party video card.

  2 cards worked fine, added third card, software would not load, 3 months back and forth with tech support, finally told 2 cards max with new firmware. Sent all 3 back for refund, still waiting on that...

  good basic low cost security for pc's already in place. for those low budget clients. remote view is good. Static IP is required. for larger more security applications an designated DVR unit is better.
