This little computer just rocks. This starter kit is good. Debian OS works very well. However, the case leaves a bit to be desired. The PC board pops out of place way too easily and the open slots make it too easy for stray connectors or wires to slip in and short things out. Provide a better case with this kit and it would be a solid 5 stars all the way.

Worked the first time I powered it up. Not a full blown PC, but a lot of computing for the money. Was surfing the web within 20 minutes of hooking it up. The composite video is poor, but the HDMI video is excellent. I recommend getting an HDMI to DVI adapter if you have a monitor with DVI.

I got my Pi via UPS today. I opened the package and was hoping to see a nice svelte case to go along with the itty bitty Pi. Much to my dismay I get this brick that is at least four times the size of the unit! I thought one of the advantages to the Pi was it's size? Well this sure isn't helping the cause! I went looking for my Legos to make my own case....I forgot I gave them to the kid next door! All in all the unit works perfectly. I took off Debian 6 and used Raspbmc instead because all I wanted right now was a media center. I am currently populating it as we speak! I love it! Now if I could afford a nice Toxic Pibow!

While basically an educational product, this is a whole unix workstation in a tiny box and so inexpensive. So fun that I'm getting some more for my old geek buddies.!

It's not gonna beat Big Blue on Jeopardy, but it was very easy to set up and added a web browser to my TV. It's small size has elicited many comments and since it's OS is on an card, it is easy to have different set-ups just by swapping cards. I think this could be suitable for novice to pro.

It works, right out of the box. What more can I say? I bought it as an alternative browser and it is. It is impressive running on my 55" Rec Room TV, for sure. I have a $15 wireless keyboard and mouse and a $6 HDMI Cable as the only added parts to make it go. So, for less than $100 out of pocket including tax and shipping, I have a viable computer. It deserves the 5 stars I gave it,

  • "Great bundle - enclosure not so much..." by botherson on 8/31/2012

Power supply, SD Card (with OS) and Raspberry Pi Model B worked perfectly! While it looks cool, the case's posts (on the sides of the RaspberryPi which hold the USB and Ethernet ports) should keep the board from sliding when connecting or disconnecting USB and RJ-45 cables. They are too short and flimsy to perform this important function. I find myself connecting the cables to the board first and then enclosing it to avoid having to reach in and hold the board in place while connecting or disconnecting cables. Enclosure was the only negative in this bundle. Raspberry Pi is one of the coolest things a geek can get for $35!

This package contains all you need to get started with the Raspberry Pi except monitor, keyboard and mouse. I received fast shipping and am very happy with this transaction. Now I can get started learning about the capabilities of the Raspberry Pi.
