This case was designed to be beautiful, easy to assemble and perfect for any use (but especially for those who want to tinker!) The case comes as 6 pieces that snap together, made of crystal-clear acrylic. This ingenious design has no screws or standoffs and there are cute little feet cut into the sides so that it stands up above your desk. There are engraved labels on all the connector slots. You can use all of the connectors on the edges of the Pi: HDMI, Audio, Video, SD slot, micro USB power, Ethernet and the two USB ports. We also added a slot so that you can connect a 26-pin IDC cable to the GPIO breakout pins on the Pi and pass it though the case. For more advanced hacking, the enclosure is designed so that you can remove the top piece and plug any sort of cables you wish into the breakouts in the middle. The case is airy enough that no additional vents or cooling is required - the enclosed Pi was tester over a 24 hour period at full load with no significant increase in temperature.

    Wouldn't recommend it

    Overall: 1 out of 5

I purchased this case and other lesser expensive cases. I wish I had just stuck with the lesser expensive cases. When I put the order in for this one, I thought it was going to be my "showpiece". It took forever to peel off the protective paper and then after several attempts to assemble it (it is not "easy to assemble"), I ended up snapping off and breaking one of the ends. Never was able to use it.

    Not a case

    Overall: 1 out of 5

I purchased two. They looked good in the picture. They are snap together, the squeak and move around a ton. They aren't stable. Since you have to remove the paper from the plastic before you put it together, it took me 20 minutes to assemble both. I would NOT buy one of these again.

Beautiful Case, Clear Acrylic Looks Amazing, Be Careful when Assembling

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

I'll admit, assembling this case by removing the laser-cut paper adhesives and snapping it all together is a bit laborious, but as long as you're careful it's a very good case that has a mildly loose fit. This shouldn't matter considering the Raspberry Pi has no moving parts, so who cares? It's awesome that you can see the entire PCB through the acrylic. Also, love the adafruit logo on it. I don't know why other reviewers are so harsh on it. Only Con: could be 5 bucks cheaper.

Decent Case - A tad loose though

    Overall: 3.5 out of 5

Its a unique clear case, but it may be a tad loose for some people's taste. One thing to note that it takes time to peel off the brown paper off of the included parts. For a more stable case, try one of the injection molded ones.

    Poor fit

    Overall: 2 out of 5

The Pi Box that I received had a problem with one of the slots in a side panel above and to the right of the HDMI port. It was too short for the tab that was supposed to fit in it. This can be corrected with a bit of filing but it isn't what I expected.

    It is what it is.

    Overall: 2.5 out of 5

PROs: It is a laser cut case. It is very clear and shows off the PI. Rating is average, if your a hobbyist and want a cool looking case, 4 stars. If you are an integrator or designing a commercial application, 1 star. CONs: Your not going to just throw this thing together, you are going to spend some time peeling the protective paper off with a magnifying glass and razor. Down to removing the 'bits' of paper left in the crevices of the laser etched logo and labels. The PI board is very loose inside the case, it tightens up when the peripherals are connected. It is a table top case, no mounts for wall etc. If your commercial, going to bounce it around, or looking for value; stick to the injection molded cases not these acrylic ones. SUMMARY: It is cool, did I mention it is laser cut?! It is a conversation piece.

    Adafruit Pi Box

    Overall: 3 out of 5

Seemed like a swell idea, one latch arrived broken, another broke almost immediately, thus this product, otherwise very appealing, needs more engineering.
