Add the following items for a complete solution:

The full color display outputs up to 800 x 480 and features a capacative touch sensing capable of detecting 10 fingers.

Only two connections from the Pi to the display are necessary; power from GPIO (or USB) connection to the DSI port. The adapter board handles power, signal conversion, and touch input conversion.

The display works with all existing Raspberry Pi models, however the mounting holes only line up with the newer board design of the A+, B+ and Pi 2.

Touch does not work evenly ... can not use menu at top

    Overall: 1 out of 5

I have fought with this for weeks on and off.
    RPi3, latest Raspbian from
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    uname -r = 4.9.24-v7+
    /opt/vc/bin/tvservice -s = state 0x400000 [LCD], 800x480 @ 60.00Hz, progressive

Touch screen works but calibration is off making it impossible to use the menu bar at the top of the screen.
I can not use this without a mouse attached ... USELESS!

Excellent choice for your Raspberry Pi

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Completely satisfied with the quality and construction of this product. In constant use for about 3 months now and no issues at all.

    Poor install instructions

    Overall: 2 out of 5

The photos for the install instructions are taken from an angle that makes it really difficult to tell how the main cable should be oriented.

Also, the Raspberry Pi model B needs extra jumpers connected and more software configuration. I only discovered this after several hours of dealing with two "dead" displays, when I did a lot of Googling. This is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions.

    Overall: 2.5 out of 5

Ordered one of these, delivered 2 days before expected arrival date, so that was nice. However, it was Dead on Arrival. Just placed another order to replace it, and going to return this one. Hopefully the first one was a fluke. Will try and remember to update this review when I get my replacement.

Also, a rear case would be great, I don't want to accidentally damage it when carrying it around.

    Great Display

    Overall: 3 out of 5

The display is great. It was easy to setup and seems to work flawlessly. Resolution is great and it did not take very long to get use to working with the size of the display.
I rated the "Value for Money" low because it is expensive if ordering from Canada. It cost me over twice the listed price after the exchange, customs handling charges and HST. Also MCM's free shipping offers sent to me in daily emails cost me an extra $30 US. I would not have ordered it if shipping charges had been disclosed at time of purchase.

Excellent build quality, Raspbian support not quite there, though

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

Four stars because the device occasionally loses its touchscreen focus capability and I have to revert to a wireless USB keyboard and mouse. Image quality is quite good! I feel like the device is comfortable to hold, even with the dual boards mounted on the back, the wireless antenna, and the power cable. Construction was trivial and the software installation was a breeze. I definitely recommend this product; it's a great addition to my Raspberry Pi collection! Fantastic value for the money.

    Works As Advertised, But...

    Overall: 4 out of 5

I found the unit to be quite heavy. You will need to make or purchase a frame or stand of some kind, for this to be practical. In most situations, you'll also need to power the display and Pi separately. When running the desktop while using a single power source for both devices combined, there was barely enough power available. You'll see a power warning symbol on the display screen on the upper right corner. The symbol came and went intermittently, and at first I didn't know what it was. After using two separate power adaptors, one for the display, and one for the Pi, everything worked flawlessly. Overall it's an excellent value because of the touch screen feature, and because the entire desktop is visible without needing to scroll the display. Assembly wasn't difficult either. I just followed the assembly video I found on you-tube, step by step, and it only took about 5 minutes to be up and running.

    Amazing value

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I was surprised by how slim the display is. I installed my Pi and booted it and it worked like a charm. I also installed my Pi "upside down" and the form factor was reduced to a depth of 2.5 cm. This is the perfect accessory for my Marine Navigation Panel system.

    Works great!

    Overall: 4 out of 5

Works great with raspbian. Haven't tried with other, less supported configurations yet. Really like that it can be powered from the GPIO pins or from a normal micro-usb cable.

    7" Pi Touchscreen

    Overall: 4 out of 5

Ordered on 9/8/15 as soon as email notification was received. Not expected to receive until 9/14/15, but to my surprise...FEDEX delivered on 9/12/15. Excellent product. Now to find an enclosure....Nothing on MCM..yet...scowering Amazon as well. Also video indicates powering via a micro usb to micro usb adapter and then powering both from micro usb adapter on Display board is possible... need to find that cable as well because using the GPIO PINS may hinder the use of shields but haven't gotten that far yet.
