Non metallic boxes are ideal in applications where AC and low voltage devices are to be located together. Perfect in situations were A/V or data connections need to be located with an AC outlet, or when wall switches and in-wall volume controls are to be located together. New construction model may be attached wood or metal studs. Old work model uses rotating clips for easy mounting to existing wall board cutouts.   Love this product. It is well made, rigid and pulls nice and tight against the wall. Unlike old work low voltage products from Carlon, this item allows the wall plate to mount flush against the wall with no gaps. It is especially good for mounting CATV or satellite connections in the same wall plate as the AC outlet, or when volume controls are located immediately next to light switches. I highly recommend this item.

  These are hard to find and this one turned out great for me. It's pretty solid. The only thing to point out is that it's pretty deep (almost 3 1/2" from outside of wall to back edge of box), so make sure you've got enough room. I had a light switch box on the opposite side of the wall that I had to replace with a shallow box to make this fit.
