Discrepancies in what is shown & described, to what I received

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

I called and talked with Tech Services before I ordered the router, because of discrepancies with the picture shown, the D-Link P/N shown (DIR-803) on webpage and P/N shown in the PDF Datasheet (DIR-816L), which is also what is described and pictured on webpage. What I received is a DIR-803 router, which is white and does not have the USB Share port for Cloud access. They were unable to verify which router they actually had in stock and explained if it was different, I could return if not satisfied. I was mainly interested in the router capabilities, which is the same for both routers (dual band, 802.11ac) on sale for less than $40. I wasn't really interested in the Share port/Cloud feature. My reason for calling and talking to Tech Services was to point out the discrepancies on the webpage, which could be a problem for anyone that wanted a black router with the Share port/Cloud feature. It was exactly what I wanted for a replacement/upgrade to my old 802.11g router for a bargain price, thus the 'Excellent' for Value for money and I only gave it a 'Good' for Features/Quality because of the discrepancies I found on the webpage. And besides, the white is a nice change from the generic dark colors of most routers and modems. No harm, no foul for me. MCM will remain my go to place, as it has been for the last 29 years.
