  I had an old Shure M95HE cartridge in my junk drawer, decided to give this a try for 8 bucks.This generic replacement stylus sounds great, has good tonal balance and detail. It has a spherical stylus, not ellipitcal, however. But the advantage to a spherical stylus is that is more forgiving of old worn records, and it will pick up less surface noise because it does not sit as deep in the groove as an ellipitical. I recommend tracking it at 2 grams, rather than the 1.5 grams listed on the package. A good match for older tonearms, like the one in my Thorens TD160.
