    Very nice scope

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I enjoy building kits and also was interested in having a very compact oscilloscope. This is not a kit for a beginner - start with something simpler. The instructions do not show a map of the circuit board but everything on the board is labelled and can be found with some hunting. This could make it challenging for the novice, but not overwhelming. You will need a good soldering station or at least a good fine-tip iron (96-2180). A good magnifier (21-10255) is a definite plus.
After software installation, the unit started up, calibrated itself, and ran perfectly. It has virtually all of the features and functions I need and can easily fit in my toolbox instead of carrying a separate scope. Of course it needs to be connected to a computer but I carry my laptop anyway.
On the downside, it has an open case and no option for a closed case. I plan to make a plexi case to keep dirt and especially small objects out of the electronics. An optional case would be a plus.
Overall, an excellent project and an excellent tool.
