  Although I had this device for about a year, I finally got around to test it out. There are only limited circumstances where you would require a unit like this. I think that with A\V products requiring Ethernet connectivity to utilize their full potential, having one of these lying around might be a wise idea. Many products have USB connectivity but not Ethernet crossovers. To test this, I simply installed the provided data disk (it's in Chinese), plugged the unit into a USB port and connected my DSL router to it. Bingo! It actually worked, just as if I used my normal Cat5\6 throughput. Granted, the piece I received was a USB 1.1 rather than the 2.0 (thanks MCM) but did not notice a great difference in speed. I might pick up another for a TV USB connection so I can experiment further. For the price, you can't go wrong.
