  Battery housing cover does not seat properly; won't stay on. Unit arrived turned on, with battery already almost dead. Slide action is rough and calipers do not contact each other cleanly (ie the measurement surface is not ground accurately). It's inexpensive, so if you're just looking for a disposable unit with accuracy to .005 or so and you don't mind some fit and finish roughness, it's probably fine. But it's certainly not a precision measurement instrument.
