  I have to agree with the other review of these chargers. I've had 4 of these that came with the Duratool cordless screwdrivers and batteries. The LED lights seem to have no real purpose - some come on, others don't, and it seems to have nothing to do with the charging status. The transformers overheat, and most eventually fail. The voltage they produce varies widely. I have replaced some of the transformers with OEM versions found at from various sources. For that matter I've rebuilt the battery packs for the Duratool screwdrivers with name brand batteries (Sanyo for the most part) that work much better than the Duratool originals. You get what you pay for - these are really inexpensive cordless units (especially on sale) that work great with better batteries and chargers!

  Either I got a bad one or it is poorly designed. It has two lights, a red and a green but there were no instructions to say what they indicate. After plugging it in the green light came on, then plugging the battery in the green light dims, After a few minutes the charger and the wall wart get very hot, so hot that I disconneced the unit and waited for it to cool down.. I know that the battery I'm attempting to charge is very discharged so I let things cool down and tried again. After doing this procedure several times the battery only got to 12V and everything is still getting very hot. I will not be using this item.
