Gardner Bender 4 Conductor PushGard™ Push-in Wire Connectors

We frequently use these when installing security systems and their simple installation saves tons upon tons of time. HOWEVER, the rating for gauges 22 - 12 is misleading. When you get down to 20 or 22 ga stranded wire it's almost impossible to secure only one wire in a connector slot. Solid copper wire works fine but the stranded is so fine the PushGard can't grip it hard enough to withstand any strain at all. So we just use them like a wire nut and put all the wires for a connect point into one slot, like using a wire nut. Once you get to 18 ga or larger, these grip just fine. We sell them as well as use them, and out of all sold we've had just one complaint, and that was on the very issue mentioned in this review. Another thing we really like is how easy it is to check voltage or continuity by using any extra slot in the PushGard as a meter probe point.

I can't say too much about these because I haven't actually used them yet but they seem to be sturdy and the price seems reasonable. I plan on using these to make some automobile wiring harness mods. If these parts don't live up to my expectations I'll post an update but I don't expect that will be necessary.
