This Cat 5e compliant keystone jack is used to make a termination of Cat 5e wire at a wall into a mod-8 connector (commonly called RJ45). When it is used with a faceplate, it can be mounted at any height and will be flush with the wall. When it is used with a surface mount box, it will be on top of a wall.
