40W Audio Amplifier Module

Compact audio amplifier circuit is housed in a fully potted plastic enclosure and is great for a variety of hobby, service and prototype applications. Because it operates on a wide DC voltage range, it may easily be powered by batteries, automotive power, or an AC adaptor.

    I purchased this single channel amplifier module to power a center channel speaker for a flat screen TV. The unit has 5 screw terminals that are quite small, but easy to use. The unit was screwed to a heat sink prior to use. The gain is quite high so installing a 10K volume control is recommended. I powered the unit with a 15V 4A switch mode power supply. The module is characterized as a "Bridge" amplifier, which actually consists of two separate internal amplifiers, one inverted, and one non-inverted. These outputs drive the speaker differentially, and is the reason for the 40W rating into 4 ohms. The sound quality is quite good, without hum or hiss. I could not imagine an easier product to use.
