12" Dual Voice Coil Woofer
Dual voice coils are suitable for use with passive subwoofer crossovers and may be paralleled for use with most subwoofer amplifier modules. It is also perfectly suitable as a conventional 4ohm or 16ohm woofer.

  To give you an idea of the versatility of this woofer, I'm currently using it on my PA floor monitor speaker that doubles as a subwoofer. Granted that this woofer was designed for home or automobile application, it none the less has flexibility to be used in a PA bass cabinet application due to its unusually high efficiency (96 dB/ 2.83V/ 1 meter). I had this idea of PA floor monitor that doubles as a bass amplifier when I saw Fender's Bassman 150 combo amp. This compact 150 watt bass amplifier impressed me in that I could hear strong bass output 70 feet away from the stage when I'm mixing FOH. That's with a single 12" woofer. So I figured if I can find a subwoofer with good efficiency and small Vas, I could build it into a floor monitor, and it will serve dual purpose as a floor monitor/bass amp. I first looked at Pyramid 1254, but it was out of production. Then I found this woofer. It was perfect. I put it into a 1.5 cu. ft enclosure, and tuned the port to 36 Hz.   I used this woofer in the very first sub/sat system that I ever built. I calculated the cabinet to be 3.41 cu. ft. and it measured I.D.= 12"w. X 15"d. X 32 3/4"h. I used dual ports, each one measuring 2"dia. X 5 1/4" long for an F3 of 35 Hz. You can trust me on these calculations; I have extensive knowledge in loudspeaker design and concept. I crossed the voice coils over at 80 Hz each, using a 12dB high and low pass filter, although a 100-150 Hz crossover may work every bit as well. This woofer kicks ass and will shake the room and vibrate the furniture... really! Although it will not dig deep into to 20-plus Hz range, at 35 Hz it will perform impressively well with music or video. To be honest, I was completely blown-away by the performance of this seemingly "generic" woofer!!! I would highly recommend it for any application you should choose! For the money, why not just buy it and experiment with your own personal design... you can't go wrong!
