HEY WHAT'S UP NAPPYHEAD IN THE HOUSE, GOT 2 OF THESE VERY BIG, HEAVY WOOFERS. I MUST SAY THIS IS A REAL GOOD VALUE FOR A SPEAKER OF THIS SIZE. I HAVE BUILT A BOX FOR ONE ALREADY OUT OF 3/4 PINE/MAPLE PLYWOOD, I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM OSB. 24"X20"X18" GIVES YOU 4.2 C/F PER ENCLOSURE INSIDE BOX VOLUME, W/2 3"X12" PORTS FOR B4 MEASUREMENT OF 26.6 BOX FREQ. SCREW IT, BRACE IT, SEAL IT SHUT W/CAULK, EVERYTHING. USE 1/2" WINDOW WEATHER STRIP FOR A GASKET ON THE WOOFER TO SEAL THAT ON THE FRONT BAFFLE. THIS BOX HITS NICE, TIGHT AND HARD, I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS BOX AND SPEAKER, THEY WORK GREAT TOGETHER, READY TO PUT THE OTHER BOX TOGETHER. NOW I NEED 18" GRILLS. THAT WILL BE 4 18S WITH THE 2 MCM MODELS WHICH ARE A WHOLE LOT LIGHTER, REINFORCE THE MCM CABS WITH SCREWS, SEAL THEM W/CAULK INSIDE/OUT LIKE I DID ON THE MCM'S AND YOU SHOULD BE JUST FINE. NICE BIG RAW SPEAKER, WOULD LIKE TO GET 6 MORE FOR 8 CUSTOM CABS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUILD YOUR OWN BOX, USE THE DESIGN I USED AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. LOVE-TRUTH-PEACE-FREEDOM AND JUSTICE, LOVE YA, OUT.

To the one star person. I do not own the 18 inch series of this speaker. You are probibly a much smarter person
than the rest of us tecks. You probibly have many very expencive woofers..
To the rest of us a $50. 18 inch speaker that is just a little above fair is friggin FANTASTIC!
Rem: measure in free air, one foot from speaker ( just bare speaker) with no cab.
Also Value = price x function. Thanks for reading...Jess

I bought these to use a long side of Black Widow 18s in Turbosound cabinets. For the price I just wanted to be happy for a little upgrade. I was very surprised to hear and feel that these go a little lower and sound much warmer than the 350 watt rms / 700 peak BW,s The terminals are a little weak but other than that a great deal for sure. Now I have 6 matching cabinets but 2 sound a lil better than the other 4.

Hands down best deal on quality 18 inch woofers in existence!! These are some really nice woofers. I have some of the 6 1/2 MCM woofers and they are great. I wasn't too worried about trying these but at the price i was slightly skeptical at what I might receive ....Wow was I blown away at the quality and sound these monsters put out. I Purchased 4 and built 4 awesome bass cabinets...after the impression these made on me...I order 4 more. Now I have eight 18 inch bass bottoms for my new mobile DJ system. Two of these can get the job done at most events but now I'm ready for just about anything!!! Thanks MCM you haven't let me down yet : )

I bought this for an enclosure I was making at home. It's 2'×2'×2' and uses 4 triangle ports tuned to 45 Hz. I'm only powering it with 125 Watts RMS and it sounds GREAT! It is very well built, and in my opinion you can not top this sub for the price!

I've used three sizes in this series -- 12" - Part# 55-2952, 15" - Part# 55-2953 and 18" - Part #55-2954 and have had great results with all. Build quality is great, sound is at least as good as the original, and price is ridiculously low. For rebuilding, repairing old equipment for resale, these cannot be beat. I even resell these as replacements in my shop, my customers love them.

This is basically a low output driver. First I find the "specs" far from true. My Eminence sowtware always calculates the SPL much lower than posted numbers. This is the case with ALL MCM speakers I have purchased. This woofer has such low output it's worthless to me. SPL of 99dB 1w1m is no way true. I compare all my speaker purchases with my Emenence 10" drivers (94dB) & 15" Kappa driver(98.4dB). Building a custom 4.5 ft ported box so I could use the 18" mcm woofer, Playing music through it with m 1000 watt power amp (500 x 2) it's about 250 - 300 watt at 8 Ohms. I push the amp all the way up & it's breaking up, clipping & just awfull sounding. Not the case with my other Pyle or Eminence speakers. Then I try playing bass through it with my 1000 watt bass rig. It worked for "some" notes. The low "B" string was ok, then the "E" string was just gone. Then a little higher & the "A" string was ok. These MCM speakers are just a joke & I'm tired of loosing money. I will now have to buy a "real" speaker to make use of the custom box. You don't even get what you pay for with a MCM woofer. Pyle has proved that price doesn't make the difference, Pyle gives me great results at low prices. MCM has shown me the worst woofers at any dollar amount. I wonder if i can send it back. Oh, it also was shipped LOOSE in a box with the magnet just a single layer of cardboard box between it and everything it hit during shipping. WORST SHIPPING EVER.

I bought this woofer to build a 1x18 + 1x12 bass cabinet, and I couldn't be more impressed. The woofer is given about 4.5 cubic feet ported to 35hz, and it is very impressive for such a modest box. I'm currently feeding it with a 400w JBL power amp, and it takes every single watt just fine, the amp running out of steam before the woofer distorts at all. Truly amazing for bass guitar, especially for a 5 string bass. 40hz pounds your chest, 30hz is loud and clear. If you want true fundamental notes from your 5 string bass, look no further than this woofer. Would probably also work very well as a budget PA or DJ subwoofer. Also, considering the magnet size and voice coil diameter, along with my own experience, I'd say that 300w for this woofer is grossly underrated. This woofer could easily do 400-500w RMS, I'm sure of it. I would also say, though, that it probably doesn't manage 100db sensitivity, probably more like 95db given its T/S parameters. Even so, an incredibly good deal for the money, you'd never get a deal this good from Eminence, Peavey, Selenium, or even Goldwood.
