    Good sound, terrible plastic

    Overall: 1.5 out of 5

Installed two years ago (Arizona heat - but no direct sunlight) and every one has a broken bezel. One nearly fell out of the ceiling completely. Also, I do remember that the mounting mechanism was very difficult compared to other self-mounting products I have used.

    Plastic is Brintle

    Overall: 1 out of 5

After 2 1/2 years the speakers are falling out of the cielling because the plastic is so Brintle. I had metal wire holding the speakers up in the plastic snap, falling to the floor. Do not buy these speakers you will be replacing them in a few years.

    Enclosed Speaker Deal

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Quality and Price meet on this product. I concur with previous review about taping the screws through the mounting clip before installation. It helps with final installation for a clear run of screw. I am very impressed with MCM, their products, and most importantly their customer service.

Not to crazy about the grills

    Overall: 4 out of 5

I have installed upwords of 30 of these speakers in various 70vt apps, they are beautiful speakers have good flexability and sound good,, not very happy withe mounting clamps, and diffinenly with the mounting grilles they are a bear to reinstall, after having to change the taps from the front, especially when you get used to mounting ceiling speakers that have magnetic grilles, I diffvintly recommend them but be careful if you are schuled to do a upcomming job the packaging sucks I have have 4 packed to a box of wich the bezles have been broken in shipping which means having to ship them back wait new ones to arrive and then wait for credit, otherwise I highly recommend them

    Pleasantly Surprized

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

I installed 6 of these speakers along with the MCM 555-4925 70v amp for a whole house audio install.. Very good sound and build quality for the price. I will start with the few cons, firstly 1 speaker was cracked from what appears to be over tightening from the factory, I was going to send it back for replacement but its unnoticeable with the grill on and speaker sounds fine. Second con is the mounting ears are too tight and the screw heads are soft, making them strip pretty easily, an easy fix for both of these is to run the mounting ears up and down a few times before mounting so you can hold the ear in the slot and use an appropriate length drywall screw in place of the factory screw if needed. PLEASE NOTE: don't lets these little cons scare you away from these speakers, I install pro audio for a living and can tell you that I've seen the exact problems and worse with very expensive top of the line brand speakers.

    Great sound, tricky installation!

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Yes, these do sound great and they are very sensitive, only need low power amp to sound great. BUT! I found that , as another rater said, the screw clamps are tricky. The threads are very tight so I ended up running each screw in and out once to sort of break them in, then they went in easily. Also, the hole template is about 1/2" too big, My cutout ended up almost too big, so cut the hole smaller and trim it out as needed. Price can't be beat either but remember to order two!!

good enough sound quality for the money, janky installation

    Overall: 3 out of 5

i'm using these speakers in 8 ohm mode and they sound good enough for $25 a pop. however, installation was tricky as the screw clamps were poorly designed. if you plan to use them, i recommend removing the excess glue around the screw clamps first. also, cut away the excess plastic on the screw clamp before installing them into a wall/ceiling, do a dry run first and you'll see what i mean--the clamp gets misaligned and crushed, then binds up in the guide.
