Raspberry Pi Project Power Supply By Nwazet (PIPOWER)

3.5 stars 1 review
$15.25

This power supply is designed to provide the Raspberry Pi with a clean and stable power source from a 9V wall-wart such as 9V 1A Power Supply. As you may know, the Raspberry Pi can become unstable when used with power-hungry USB devices and this power supply will provide the head room needed to keep your setup running smoothly.

For Raspberry Pi hackers out there, this power supply also features two additional voltage regulators, respectively outputting 800mA at 3.3v and 5V on power rails conveniently accessible through a vertical JST connector, as well as a standard 0.1" pin header.

Specifications Top

The center position on the power connectors (JST and pin header) is reserved for ground and it is common with the Raspberry Pi's ground. The power supply ships as shown on the main picture and does not include any other related items.

Looks very nice. Unsure about execution

If you're going to purchase this, give careful thought to including also buying a a USB A to Micro USB adapter. Honestly, I can' imagine why the board maker doesn't include one. Plates for the Raspberry Pi are often just a cheap place to store your board. There's no panache, no creativity. The manufacturer for this board also makes a Raspberry Pi plate that is beautiful, intelligent, well-thought. This power supply fits nicely on that plate, the reason I got it. Strangely, there is no guide as to how to mount this board (using pictures you can figure it out). And they don't provide the USB A to Micro USB adapter in the package. Nor is it immediately obvious to the potential purchaser of this power supply that you might want to get one! Summary: poor to non-existent documentation (with no good reason) and the manufacturer should include a USB A to Micro USB adapter. Why have something that inexpensive not be included? As far as my actual experience with these products (assuming that those two comments don't matter: pretty positive.
