      555-3188 - 40W PA Amplifier

      Overall: 1 out of 5

I have purchased two of these in the past year. The first one was tested in my shop before installation. It had a loud whine after being on for about two minutes. MCM did a pickup and credit for this unit.

I purchased another unit, tested and installed it and it developed the same problem in about 4 months. I returned it to Pyramid for warranty repair. I had to pay shipping both ways. When it was returned to me, I hooked it up in my shop and it started making the whining noise after about an hour. I called the repair center and they said if I would pay return shipping they would pay to ship the unit back to me. That will mean I have paid $40 total in shipping for warranty repair.

      40 watt PA AMP

      Overall: 3.5 out of 5

This item arrived not completely assembled. The led bar was not in the opening in the cabinet but flopping around inside! I had to remove the cover and add the two screws that were missing to fasten the led circuit board in its proper position. This amp will be installed this weekend in my church. I hope it works. The quality appears good but I question the workmanship. Roy
