    Nice hybrid tube amp head

    Overall: 4.5 out of 5

Just got this Pulse head delivered last week - took it to my favorite luthier's shop and played it through an old Marshall 4x12 cabinet. Clean and Drive (lead) channels both produce a nice range of tones. The solid-state pre-amp doesn't ever quite get the sweetness of a pure tube amp, but it's a fine amp nonetheless. VERY well built. Good reverb. Standby switch. 4, 8, and 16 ohm speaker outputs. Jacks for channel switching and reverb switching foot pedals.

Not perfect but great deal - I gig with it.

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I use the amp's clean and boosted channels. The second channel that is not boosted has too much mid-range for me. That is fine with me though since I turn down the gain and use it with an overdrive pedal and it gives me a few different sounds for live shows. I play this through an Eminence Legend V12-8 speaker in a homemade cabinet and it sounds really good. I can cover blues, rock and modern metal sounds very well. I also use the effects loop to run through an old Korg AX1 for delay, extra reverb, tuning and volume pedal. I use an eq in the loop too but not sure if it is needed that much. I am leaving it at excellent since the second channel's sound is not to my liking but others might use it.

    Great recording studio amp!

    Overall: 5 out of 5

I bought this amp specifically for a recording session I was recently involved in and it came through with flying colors. I wanted a compact, not too expensive, dual channel head, that if I had to, I could really push hard to get what I needed. I put it through a 4X12 cabinet and it delivered everything a good tube amp should. Experimenting with different preamp and power tubes can change the distortion character and how quickly and smoothly it breaks up, but the supplied tubes worked just fine for me. It takes pedals well and I had no issues with the effects loop or built in reverb. I own quite a few amps - and have owned just about all brands out there over the years - and I found this amp to be a very nice, very usable right from the box, little tube amp at a great price.

    Good looking amp, but...

    Overall: 2 out of 5

I play in church and really liked the white covering and bronze panel.

Purchased one from MCM this summer. Unit arrived, found that treble control did not work (no highs at all). Called MCM and customer service immediately RMA'd and sent out a new unit that day!. Bravo MCM customer service. The replacement amp all controls worked.

Clean tones are good. Reverb is weak, even all the way up. Crunch channel has poor tone and is unusable. Sorry. Tried several guitars, humbucker and single coils (Fender, PRS, G&L, and Gibson). I also own a number of similar amps that sound much better. Don't know if better tubes will help.

Great little amp for the price!

    Overall: 4 out of 5

I bought this sight unseen because the price was just too good to pass up...and it did not disappoint! Got the matching 1x12 cabinet and it is a great little amp overall!
