    Pulse 60 Amp Head

    Overall: 3 out of 5

Surprisingly has very, very rich tone! The effects could get kind of cheesy at high volumes. Overall I would say it puts out and feels more like a 30 or 40 watt than a true 60 watt. For the money can't be beat!

    Solid Amp

    Overall: 5 out of 5

Purchased the 60W and 1X12 cabinet and am very impressed with the tone from the 1-12AX7 and 2-6L6 tubes (Chinese apparently with the W designation for Military tubes). Was planning on purchsing a Marshall combo amp for the tube tone but glad I made the Pulse purchase. The white tolex is beautiful and the option to select Drive and Lead basically makes this a 3 channel amp as Drive adds preamp distortion to the output. The DSP effects are OK (primarily digital reverb) but the effects loop makes the best of your effects. Build quality is excellent as with Marshall, VOX, etc. and just upgraded from a VOX modeling amp and am very happy. Will probably upgrade the tubes when they burn out and possibly replace the speaker with a Celestion Veteran 30. I've been a MCM customer for 15 years and will keep coming back.
