Bill of Materials for jr fan mount:
- 2: 1/2? 6-32 Screw
- 2: 6-32 Hex Nut
- 4: M3x16mm Screw
- 4: M3 Hex Nut
The two triangle pieces on the extruder mount are replaced with the two new side mounts with the funky extension. This will attach with the current hardware you have (0.5? 6-32 screws w/ nuts). There are TWO options included in the kit – one for typical 40mm fans (smaller one with holes ~34mm apart) AND one for larger fans (larger with one end open). The included fan mounts on the smaller one. The fan will mount with four M3 screws and M3 nuts in the provided holes (see picture below). The Wire extension plugs into the fan connector with corresponding wires connecting (red to red, red with black line to black). The fan plug on the Printrboard is a two pin plug labelled “FAN” next to the thermistor plug (labeled “T-EXT”). The positive (+) side is the pin nearest the thermistor plug and corresponds to the red wire in the included wiring extension.
The airflow comes IN on the open, flat side of the fan facing up. The air exits OUT the side with the four, clear mounting brackets on the motor /wiring side facing down.
The G-code to turn on and off is below:
You control the fan in Slic3r under the cooling section in the settings.
