I have purchased several of these over a period of time - some as gifts, and some as replacements for failed units. I keep hoping Pyle will have figured out their QC issues, but I have since given up. These units themselves will work for a few months at best, and then fail in various ways. But the remote controls will ALL kill their batteries just sitting unused in the car for a few days. Problems experienced with various units: 1) complete failure - dark display - dead 2) one channel (left r or right) goes silent (forever). 3) 100% of the remotes kill their batteries within a few days. New batteries also die in a few days. It's such a great concept, and it's too bad Pyle can't get these units to hold up. Every single one of these units I have purchased have failed within a few weeks or months. How has Pyle stayed in business for all these years?

I haven't used it to play any media yet, but the aux input works just fine. You can't find an FM transmitter at the big box stores for this price, especially one that will play USB and SD cards.

Purchased for use in our older inboard ski boat so I can play MP3 music over the stereo in boat. A very versatile device with ability to use a SD card, USB thumb drive, or plain old analog audio from a iPod or smart phone device! Delivers good sound with minimal noise on FM. The annoying parts now. 1- you need a magnifying glass to read the display. 2- like others have stated, the remote must be placed within 3 inches of device for it to work! Since this is a common complaint, I will probably NOT going to request an exchange. The buttons on device do the basic stuff ok. I have not had the fuse burn out....yet. I do expect that to happen sometime, since most boats put out higher voltage than a car. Oh, the USB or flash card memory has to be under 16gig, but you can load plenty of music on a 16gig card!

Remote control keypad defective as received. The power socket on my car is under the dash on the passenger side, so without the remote control one must get in the car on the passenger side, start the player, exit and get in on driver side. With a working remote, would probably be at lest three stars

I almost didn’t buy this item because the price seemed too good to be true, but on the other hand, if it was a piece of junk I wouldn’t be out much. After reading some negative reviews I was even more skeptical, but I remembered that most people won’t bother to write a review if everything went ok, it’s usually anger that motivates people these days. The shipping cost was more cause for anger than the product, but that’s another story.

I got my mp3 player 2 days early, which was cool. The unit does everything the ad says it will and mine worked fine for me. I noticed some people were having problems and I saw what they were talking about. There are 2 things that are not mentioned in the instruction sheet (if anyone bothered to read). When I opened the package I almost didn’t see it, but there is an extra 0.5A fuse included. After close scrutiny I found the fuse location is in the end that plugs into cig lighter, it unscrews like a twist top beer. A half amp fuse filament is very fine, so if there is any problem with your vehicle’s voltage regulator for example, the fuse would blow easily to protect the unit. This could explain the short life that some were complaining about.

About the remote, some were saying their remote didn’t work at all. I had this problem too, until I noticed there is a tiny piece of clear plastic film sticking out of the slot where the battery goes in. This is not mentioned in the instruction sheet either and is barely visible, but is commonly found in electronic devices to keep the battery from discharging in the event of a button being pressed during shipping. You must remove the film before the remote will work. The remote has several equalizer settings programmed into memory. You must press the button repeatedly to navigate thru the list. A couple of the settings have the bass turned way down and one is mostly treble. The Rock and Pop settings have the most bass. The overall sound quality depends on a lot of things, but if your mp3s are at least 128kbps, the unit performs pretty well. On higher bit rate files the sound quality is better than that of local FM radio broadcasts, on my system.

I ordered 4 of these for Christmas gifts. 2 of them had there displays go blank before April. I contacted Pyle to complain and they gave me a recording to leave a message to I did that and did not get a call back. I called in again and got somebody who told me that he could/would not help me. So I called again and the sent my call to a janitor. Now I am mad about being jerked around by Pyle. They did send me two new units the first one did not work right out of the package. In my opinion they are a Pyle of sh*t.

Sound comes thru pretty clear, even when traveling I don't have to change the fm station but every once and a while. Usb works great. Only negative is that the remote only works a few feet away-straight at unit, bummer for listening while working outside of vehicle.

It is hard to find fault with something that costs less than $13 (on sale) and I have to say that this unit DOES play mp3s recorded on SD cards. Maybe it is more to do with my car radio than anything but I had poor performance in the car. It was hard to tune (mostly because my car radio display doesn't work) but even when tuned it suffered from interference from the myriad number of FM stations in my area. Strangely, holding my hand closely over the unit would often stop the interference but I can't drive that way. On the other hand, when I brought it into the house and powered it up from a battery it would broadcast to my weather radio perfectly up to about 30 feet and maybe as far as forty feet with only slight loss of signal.

The tiny little LCD is back-lit, full color,mini-pixel, and packed with all the info. It simultainiously displays the folder name, and track name on a ticker. It navigates the folders/tracks well from the remote. It didn't even hiccup as the vehicle was started (might just be my power port). Further, it remembers what track it was on last time it was plugged, so you can jump from vehicle to vehicle with it, without loosing place in the folder. (TX station also retained) The Sound Quality of the transmitter was good, with no noticeable distortion, a full use of available amplitude, similar loudness to commercial radio stations received. Also, pulled vehicle within 20ft of my shop FM Hi-Fi, and was able to also jam tunes in the shop. I didnt plug in an external device yet, i bought this unit specifically for the SD/USB player aspect. I was going to upgrade all my in dash type systems in my dump-truck / work-truck / backhoe, because the mechanics of the CD players were toast, but the amps and such were all good. This Is the Ticket. I am not only satisfied, I'm delighted.

I am on my second unit and still can't get one to work! The first one worked for about 10 minutes, then the display went dark. The second unit won't play out of the thumb drive, but works on an external audio source plugged into the input jack. The remote only works if you hold it right up to the display.

This thing is much better than the old "cassette adaptor." Very easy to use, although it is a little hard to read the display because my cigarette lighter is close to the floor in my mini-van. With the little remote control, it's not really necessary to see the display, though. Sounds great, and my kids can plug their MP3 players into the external jack so they don't have to listen to my lame music!

I have not had good luck with past FM wireless products in the car. They always seem to be noisy and prone to interference. Not the case with this unit. I really wasn't expecting much, but added it onto an order as an impulse. Wow, was I surprised. Sound is clear, fidelity is great. This thing sounds as good as any FM station I am able to tune, and after using on a recent 4 hour drive, I had no trouble at all. The only downside is the display is very small. You won't be able to see it while driving, however, the up and down buttons are easy enough to access. I will be buying many of these for stocking stuffers this Xmas. I can't recommend highly enough. This thing works great.

This product works surprisingly well. As soon as I plugged it in, tuned to the correct frequency on my radio, and pressed play I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't experience any interference issues, and the sound quality was great! There are a couple of things I wish were better, the first being the small LCD screen. This isn't a huge deal to me, because I only put music that I want to hear on my thumb drive, and typically don't attempt to navigate to a specific song. Also, the remote control signal is somewhat weak. Overall, considering the price, I would recommend this product to everyone.
