    I purchased this product along with a 4-pack of Maxell 'AA' NiMH's. Swiveled out the fold-away AC plug, plugged it in and inserted the new batteries. About 2 or 3 hours later, the red lights (1 for each pair) turned green, indicating that the 2 pairs were charged. Popped one pair into the camera and took some candid shots of my attic (doing work up there), which meant each shot also wanted the flash. Shot at least 2 dozen shots and no problems. Charger is fast and furious!
