  I had planned to plug my TV into the master and use the switched outlets to shut off power to various accessories, but the standby power to the TV when the TV is off was enough to keep the other outlets switched on. I substituted my Receiver cord into the master outlet and now have it control the other remaining devices. Not quite as I had hoped, as I frequently use the Receiver for radio listening, and the power is on to the other devices when I use the receiver for radio listening. Not as convenient as I had hoped for. Recommend the supplier provide threshold switching power data in the item description.

  I experimented with different loads. The ON threshold seems to be about 30 watts and the OFF threshold seems to be about 20 watts. Since I’m a retired Electronics Engineer, I took a look inside the device. It seems to be well designed and has an innovative circuit inside it that seems to have no other function but to reduce the standby power consumption from what would normally be about 1 watt to about 1/3 watt. The device also has 3 very robust-looking MOVs (surge suppressors), each with their own thermal fuse. It also has a built-in RFI suppressor. Do not connect this device in such a way that it can become powered by a UPS or inverter that does not have a true sinewave output or its power supply circuit will probably be damaged. This is true for almost any small AC-powered electronic device without an AC adapter. This is because such devices, including this one, use a capacitor-coupled power supply that will see the pseudo-sinewave power source as a continuous stream of voltage spikes and try to absorb them.
