Combination Multimeter and Network Cable Tester
Compact 2-in-1 unit provides standard digital multimeter functions, as well as tests proper pin configurations on network and voice cables. Provides sequential verification of each pin on a network cable, and included remote terminator allows testing of cables already installed in a structure. Digital multimeter measures AC/DC volts and amps, resistance and diodes, and provides audible continuity test.

      Went looking for a LAN tester and found this at a lower price than others plus has a multimeter. Seems well constructed and has all the accessories including a carring case. Only negative so far is that the multimeter probes have very short tips, good for circuit boards but too short for AC outlets or for probing connectors.

      The unit is solidly constructed and works as advertised, but the ON/OFF button choice for the modular cable tester section would have netted an aspiring engineer a failing grade. The button should have been recessed or should have been exchanged for a toggle switch. It is far, far too easy for the cable tester to be accidentally energized while stored inside the included case if you leave the batteries installed. Otherwise, a good value, and I would still buy it.

      Only needed it for the cable tester, for 40 bucks, that would have been enough. The meter was just an added bonus. Nice to confirm that AC is off when working around wiring. I love it.
